Jonathan Feist has been helping authors bring their books to life since the early 1990s — from initial concept through editing, design, production, and distribution. Over the course of his career, he has helped publish over 250 books, working more more than 200 authors. Through his press, Orchard Fire Publishing, he helps independent authors at every stage of the publishing journey, whether preparing a manuscript for a commercial publisher or publishing on their own terms. From 1998 to 2025, he worked at Berklee Press, the publishing division of Berklee College of Music, serving primarily as editor in chief.

In addition to his work supporting other authors, Jonathan is himself credited as author or coauthor on many books, such as Project Management for Musicians and Berklee Contemporary Music Notation.
